MENU
Lots of local and organic ingredients, from-scratch recipes, freshly squeezed fruit drinks, hearty salads, and baked-daily biscuits.
DID YOU KNOW...
Did you know that we make everything on this menu in-house and from scratch? We also buy local meats, cheeses,
honey, breads, etc. We employ full-time biscuit makers, prep cooks, and drink makers so that everything we serve you
can be fresh and homemade. We pay real living wages to our staff. We use organic ingredients as much as we can. We
use re-useable straws and napkins to prevent waste, we recycle our used cooking oil, we compost our used coffee
grounds and lime peels. We love our planet and the people on it, so we’re trying to do everything we can to take better
care of us all. It requires a lot more effort on our end, but to us it’s worth it.

Let's start from the beginning
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Hi, my name is Hoss and my wife is Teri. We got our start at the farmers market in 2009. Wanting to start a seasonal food business that we could do at summer events, I came up with a fresh mint limeade and started selling at farmers markets and county fairs. It gained popularity over the years and eventually we decided to turn it into a brick and mortar store.
So I went back to my roots and developed a food menu of things that I love. Having grown up in Texas, what else would we do but things like homemade biscuits, fried chicken, and of course, the popular fresh mint limeades.
We opened in a small space near downtown Salt Lake City. After a few years of extremely hard work, we decided that we were indeed insane, and that we should do it again, this time across the valley, down the street from where my parents still live in Draper.
It’s hard work, but we love our business. We love using local and organic ingredients, making everything in house from scratch, providing top-notch comfort food to hungry diners. We love how excited people get when they see The Hoss (our signature sandwich of biscuit, chicken, bacon, egg, gravy, cheese) arrive in front of them. We love being able to create a unique dining experience with creative dishes that are made from real ingredients. And we love our staff. They work hard and are an integral part of the Sweet Lake family.
Love,
Hoss & Teri
